From the Chief Executive Officer and the Board President

Dear Friend:

2010 was a defining year for Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City, Inc. and its affiliates (NHSNYC). We tackled difficult issues and developed a greater respect and trust amongst the leadership and our supporters. Through its affiliated neighborhood offices, housing development subsidiaries and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), NHSNYC was able to fulfill promises made in 2010. We adapted quickly and responsively to: re-design our financial education programs; raise capital for our community development financial institution (CDFI); incorporate energy efficiency and green initiatives and education into all of our program offerings; remain focused on fighting foreclosure and stabilizing NYC neighborhoods, working with residents, Realtors, developers, and other community-based organizations. Through support from our financial institution partners and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program Funding we were able to provide resources to homeowners and business owners to purchase nine StoreWorks affordable mixed use properties.
