NeighborWorks America awarded NHS with the 2009 Top Producer Award for being #1 in the network for Direct Investment into the community.  NHS programs and services resulted in the investment of $161 Million in New York City neighborhoods in 2009, which is more than any of the 230 NeighborWorks chartered organizations across the country.

NHS CEO, Bernell Grier, accepted the award on behalf of NHS."It is a great honor to receive this award, especially given the high caliber of the NeighborWorks network. It is a testament to our staff and our partners that we were able to continue to make such an impact in these tough economic times," said Grier. This is the third year in a row that NHS has ranked #1 in the network for direct investment.
