Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flatbush (NHSEF) provides loans to homeowners for moderate interior and exterior repairs.  But it goes beyond just lending, we offer a hands-on approach. A construction services staff person will be assigned to your project to guide you through the process from preparing the scope of work to completion, as well as working with the contractor to ensure that the project runs smoothly.  Typical projects include roof repair, bathroom and kitchen renovation, electrical and plumbing upgrades, refurbishing of windows, walls and doors, and interior and exterior painting. You may be eligible if you own a house or apartment building from one- to four-units. Loan amounts range from $5,000 to $50,000.

Free monies can certainly ease the burden of getting repairs done.  From time to time, NHESF may be awarded grants from the City and the State of New York or from private donors and foundations to help homeowners maintain, address safety issues or make their homes more energy efficient.
