New York, NY --  Join Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) and WBLS on Friday June 4th on Broadway near Times Square as NHS launches its campaign against mortgage rescue scams. 

The rise of foreclosurers across the nation has created another industry where vulnerable homeowners are promised mortgage modifications in exchange for a fee.  Oftentimes, the homeowner doesn't receive the modification and still faces possible foreclosure.     In an April 26 Crain's business article, the Mortgage Asset Research Insistute ranked New York  City number one in the country for reported cases of mortgage fraud in 2009.  Don't be a victim.  NHS staff will be there to inform the public of this nation wide problem, and most importantly, how to avoid it.
