NHS of East Flatbush was awarded a grant from the Brooklyn Community Foundation (BCF) for its 2011 We Can Green Brooklyn EcoFair.   

The Brooklyn based group's mission is to support and bring attention to the creativity and outstanding work done by not-for-profits and community based organizations in their home borough, which oftentimes goes deafly unnoticed.  
 
In its second year, the EcoFair attracted over 300 attendees and 150 vendors and volunteers on May 7.  The EcoFair's central focus is to provide eco-friendly information and services to the Central Brooklyn area so it can become a part of our daily practices.
This bazaar included entrepreneurs, artists, not for profit organizations, government agencies and  established energy companies.  Among the main attractions included  the free 200-tree giveaway, the Eco-Wellness and Holistic Pavilion offering musical performances, tai-chi demonstrations, vegetarian cuisine, visual art, chicken-care workshops and crafts, and the Fashion show.
