Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flatbush primary service area is within Community Board 17 (CB 17), home to a large Caribbean immigrant community but also includes African Americans as well as groups from Central and South America, the Middle East, Mexico, Asia, and Europe.

CB 17 includes all or parts of the following neighborhoods: East Flatbush, Erasmus and Clarendon Meadows, Remsen Village, Ditmas Village, Prospect, Lefferts Gardens, Farragut, Rugby & Wingate.

In addition to CB 17, NHSEF is also services Crown Heights, East New York, Spring Creek, Brownsville, Kensington, Midwood, Canarsie, Flatlands, Old Mill Basin, Marine Park, Bay Ridge, and Coney Island.
