Mission Statement

Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flatbush (NHSEF) is a not-for-profit community-based organization working to increase and protect investment in underserved neighborhoods, to help community members improve themselves through education, to encourage and support neighborhood self reliance, and to create, preserve, and promote affordable housing in specific Brooklyn neighborhoods.

NHSEF accomplishes its mission through rehabilitation of housing; education through capacity building of residents; development of grass-roots leadership that promotes self-sufficiency of neighborhoods; creation of neighborhood revitalization projects that are specially designed for community needs; and development of new programs that meet the changing needs of low and moderate-income residents in East Flatbush.

Our Mission

NHSEF revitalizes underserved neighborhoods by creating and preserving affordable housing and providing opportunities for homeownership education, financial assistance and community leadership. Working in partnership with government and business, we are led by local residents and guided by local needs.
